Genelia D'Souza (Born in Mumbai, India) is a young actress in India. Her parents originally hail from Goa and later moved to Mumbai. She has acted over a dozen films in South Indian Cinema.In the film, there are five teenagers who are very good friends. They have stereotypical teen-boy fantasies - proposing to every girl they come across, touching women in crowded areas, boozing, porn, and call girls etc. In the process they meet a girl Harini (Genelia). A guy called Munna (Siddharth) from this group of boys falls in love with her and she falls for him too. After coming to know about it, the parents separate the boy, girl and the friends. The boy and the girl get desperate and elope, with their group of friends, to Tirupati and get married. And this marriage was held by Mangalam Sir (Vivek).The parents throw them out. The friends also come out to support this young couple. They all work together to make a living. They find their strengths and hidden talents. They form a band called 'Boys'. Sign a contract with Sony Music and win the MTV awards. In the process, differences crop up between the wedded couple and they fall out. The rest of the film is all about how they get united with the help of their friends.Mangalam Sir also helped them to reveal their talents for singing.The group "Boys" succeed in their effort and become very famous and rich despite all the hardships they had to faceSantosh Subramaniam is a 2008 Tamil musical and romantic film which was directed and co-written by Raja Mohan while Kalaprathi S. Agoram produced the film. While Jayam Ravi and Genelia D'Souza played the lead roles, Prakash Raj and Geetha, prominent actors from the south Indian film industry, played the significant roles of one of the lead character's parents in the movie. The film is a remake of the successful Telugu language film, Bommarillu, which post-release sparked off a battle in Tamil film industry for the remake rights.[2][3] Apart from Tamil, efforts to remake this film in Hindi with Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan, popular actors from the Bollywood, were unsuccessful, but Anees Bazmee has recently announced the remake, It's My Life, with Harman Baweja playing the role opposite D'Souza, who plays the charcter for the third time.[4][5]The film primarily revolves around a father and son relationship with the father's dote on his son ironically leaving a bitter taste with the latter. The son's choices and his wants to achieve something in life are always subdued by his father's. The father has a justification in the form of his dream, that is to build a dream house. When it comes to his son's marriage, the son breaks his shackles of respect only to experience the newly found independence. The film concludes with the father's repentance on his foolishness and the happy marriage of the protagonists.The film opened to the Indian audiences on April 11, 2008 coinciding with Tamil New Year.[1] On its way to winning accolades and rave reviews, the film became a trendsetter in Tamil cinema along with Yaaradi Nee Mohini, starting a trend for family orientated films.[6]
